Jerry Lucas Wins Championships

From high school ball, Lucas was always one of the top players on the court at any given time. He was able to win championships in high school and college. However, it was a little harder for Lucas to reach the top of the mountain in the NBA. In spite of accolades such as Rookie of the Year and several First-Team All-NBA and All-Star selections, his Royals’ teams were never able to reach the NBA Finals. It wasn’t until the later stages of his career when Lucas finally won an NBA title. It took two chances with the New York Knicks, but the second time was the charm. In a 4-1 series win over the Los Angeles Lakers, the 33-year old averaged 7 points and 4 rebounds during the 5-game series. With the series win, Lucas had finally won a championship on all three levels of competition.
