William Warren Bradley was born on July 28, 1943 in Crystal City, MO. He is the son of Susan and Warren Bradley. Bill started playing basketball at the age of nine. He balanced athletics and academics throughout his life and excelled at both.
Bradley attended Crystal City High School. One of the few players to make varsity as a freshman, Bradley scored over 3,000 points in his high school career. He led his team to the state tournament three times. He earned High School All-American honors twice. Although dominant on the hardwood, Bradley was equally as impressive in the classroom. He decided to continue his college basketball career at Princeton.

Bradley played for Princeton from 1962-65. He averaged 30 points and 12 rebounds during his college career. He led the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament all three seasons he played. In 1965 he was named NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player as he led the Tigers to the Final Four. Bradley was a 3-time All-American and won College Player of the Year in 1965.

Bill Bradley NBA Career Stats and Notes
Bradley was a territorial pick in 1965 by the New York Knicks. However he didn’t join the Knicks until 1967 as he played for Milano for the first two years of his professional basketball career. His entire basketball career was spent with the Knicks. Alongside Hall of Famers Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Earl Monroe, Jerry Lucas and Dave DeBusschere, Bradley was part of two NBA title teams. He would retire after ten years in the league in 1977. Bradley was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1983.

For all of Bradley’s accomplishments in high school and college basketball, winning state and national championships had eluded him. For his NBA career, he hadn’t had the impact he did before, only averaging 12 points and 3 rebounds per game. However, he finally won a title in 1970 as the Knicks defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in seven games. Bradley made a solid contribution to the Knicks’ efforts with a 12 point and 4 rebound per game average in the Finals.
