Super Bowl MVP: Mark Rypien

Super Bowl XXVI was played on January 26, 1992, between the Washington Redskins and the Buffalo Bills. The game took place at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Redskins emerged victorious, defeating the Bills by a score of 37-24.

The Redskins' quarterback, Mark Rypien, was named the Super Bowl MVP for his impressive performance, throwing for 292 yards and two touchdowns. The Redskins' defense played a crucial role, intercepting Bills quarterback Jim Kelly four times.

Kelly wasn't the only one struggling from the Bills. Offensively, Thurman Thomas and Kenneth Davis couldn't get the running game going as they totaled only 30 yards the entire game. The Bills' defense allowed two 100 yard receivers (Gary Clark 7/114, Art Monk 7/113) and the score was 37-10 at one point.

This was the Redskins' third Super Bowl victory in franchise history, with their previous wins coming in Super Bowls XVII and XXII. The Bills, on the other hand, suffered their second consecutive Super Bowl loss, having lost the previous year in Super Bowl XXV.
