Super Bowl VIII took place on January 13, 1974, between the Miami Dolphins and the Minnesota Vikings. The game was held at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas. The Miami Dolphins emerged victorious, defeating the Minnesota Vikings with a score of 24-7.

The Dolphins' offense was led by their star running back, Larry Csonka, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns, earning him the Super Bowl MVP Award. Miami's quarterback, Bob Griese, also contributed to their success with efficient passing and a touchdown throw.

On the defensive side, the Dolphins' "No-Name Defense" lived up to its reputation by stifling the Vikings' offense. They sacked Fran Tarkenton, the Vikings' quarterback, twice, caused an INT and held them to just one touchdown.

Super Bowl VIII marked the second consecutive victory for the Miami Dolphins, as they capped off their perfect season with a 17-0 record the previous year. They were the first team in NFL history to make three straigh Super Bowl appearances. The Dolphins' dominant performance established them as one of the most formidable teams in the 1970s.
