Super Bowl XXXIV took place on January 30, 2000. It was held at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. The matchup was between the St. Louis Rams and Tennessee Titans. The Rams were led by their quarterback, Kurt Warner, and the Titans were led by quarterback Steve McNair.

The game started out all Rams. The record setting offense didn't get going however, in the first half. Three field goals gave the Rams a 9-0 lead heading into halftime. In the third quarter, the Rams finally hit paydirt with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Warner to Torry Holt. Down 16-0 late in the third, McNair and the Titans got going.

The Titans started their comeback with a 1 yard TD rush by Eddie George to close out the third. In the fourth, George punched it in once again, this time from two yards out to cut the lead to 16-13. With almost two minutes remaining, the Titans tied it up with an Al Del Greco 43-yard field goa.

Warner continued his magical season with a storybook ending. He hit Isaac Bruce for a back breaking 73-yard TD strike to take a 23-16 lead. The Titans, determined to tie the game once more, drove down the field and found themselves just 10 yards away from the end zone with only seconds remaining.

On the final play of the game, Titans quarterback Steve McNair completed a pass to receiver Kevin Dyson, but he was tackled just short of the goal line by Rams linebacker Mike Jones. The Rams held on to win the game 23-16, capturing their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history. It was the Titans first Super Bowl appearance in team history.
