Super Bowl XXXIII was played on January 31, 1999, between the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons. The game took place at Pro Player Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The Broncos, led by quarterback John Elway, emerged victorious with a score of 34-19, securing their second consecutive Super Bowl victory.

In the first quarter, the Falcons took an early lead with a field goal. However, the Broncos responded with a touchdown run by fullback Howard Griffith. The second quarter saw the Broncos build on their lead, as Elway threw a touchdown pass to Rod Smith. Denver took a 17-6 lead into halftime.

In the fourth quarter, Broncos extended their lead to 24-6 after Griffith's second TD of the game. The lead ballooned to 25 points after Elway took it in from three yards out. Falcons finally scored a TD in the game when Tim Dwight returned the ensuing kickoff 94 yards to make the score 31-13. A late Chandler to Terance Mathis TD closed out the scoring in the Super Bowl but it wasn't enough.

John Elway, in his final NFL game, was named the Super Bowl MVP. He completed 18 of 29 passes for 336 yards and one touchdown. Broncos' running back Terrell Davis was a key contributor, rushing for 102 yards. The victory marked the Broncos' second Super Bowl win in franchise history. It was the Falcons first ever Super Bowl appearance.
