Super Bowl XIII took place on January 21, 1979, between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys. The game was held at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida. It was an exciting matchup between two powerhouse teams.

The Steelers, led by quarterback Terry Bradshaw, were aiming for their third Super Bowl victory, while the Cowboys, led by quarterback Roger Staubach, were seeking their second championship. Both teams had talented rosters and a fierce competitive spirit.

The game started with a flurry of scoring as the Steelers took an early lead. John Stallworth, the Steelers' wide receiver, caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from Bradshaw. The Cowboys struck back, with Staubach connecting with Tony Hill for a 39-yard touchdown pass.

In a high scoring second quarter, the Steelers and Cowboys traded TDs. The Steelers would take a 21-14 lead into the half after another Bradshaw touchdown pass, his second of the quarter and third of the game, to Rocky Bleier.

The third quarter was a struggle for both teams as only a Cowboys FG put points on the board. The fourth quarter had alot of fireworks. Both teams put two TDs on the board but that didn't help the Cowboys take the lead. Steelers scored the first two of the fourth with a TD run by Franco Harris and Bradshaw's fourth TD pass of the game, this one to Lynn Swann. The Cowboys answered with two Staubach TD passes to cut the lead to 35-31.

The Cowboys couldn't recover an onside kick with seconds left and the Steelers ran out the clock. The Steelers won the game 35-31, securing their third Super Bowl title. The Cowboys fell to 2-2 in Super Bowls during the decade. Bradshaw was able to overcome his three turnovers by completing 17/30 passes for 318 yards and 4 TDs. He was named Super Bowl MVP.
