Super Bowl VI took place on January 16, 1972, between the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins. The game was held at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Cowboys emerged victorious, defeating the Dolphins with a final score of 24-3.

The Cowboys' dominant defense played a crucial role in their victory. They limited the Dolphins' offense to just three points and 185 total yards, allowing Dallas to establish control early in the game. The Dolphins' lone score came from a 31-yard field goal by Garo Yepremian.

On the offensive side, the Cowboys' quarterback Roger Staubach was named the game's Most Valuable Player (MVP). Staubach threw two touchdown passes, one to Mike Ditka and another to Lance Alworth. Duane Thomas, the Cowboys' running back, also contributed significantly to the team's success, rushing for 95 yards and a TD.

Super Bowl VI marked the first Super Bowl victory for the Dallas Cowboys in franchise history. It was also the first Super Bowl appearance for the Miami Dolphins, who would go on to become a dominant team in the following years, winning back-to-back Super Bowls in 1973 and 1974.
