Super Bowl IV took place on January 11, 1970, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Minnesota Vikings. The game was held at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Chiefs, led by head coach Hank Stram, emerged as the champions with a final score of 23-7.

The game saw the Chiefs' offense dominate the Vikings' defense. Kansas City's quarterback, Len Dawson, completed 12 of 17 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown. He connected with receiver Otis Taylor for a 46-yard touchdown pass in the third which were the last points in the game for either team.

The Chiefs' defense played exceptionally well, intercepting three passes from the Vikings, including two from starting quarterback Joe Kapp. Kansas City's defense also limited Minnesota's rushing attack, allowing only 67 yards on the ground.

The victory marked the first Super Bowl win for the Kansas City Chiefs franchise, which lost 35-10 in Super Bowl I. It was also the final game before the AFL-NFL merger. Len Dawson was named the game's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his impressive performance.

Super Bowl IV is also remembered as the game where Chiefs' coach Hank Stram wore a microphone, providing viewers with unique insights into the game. Although the NFL longed believed they were the superior league over the AFL, the head to head matchups proved otherwise as it ended in a 2-2 tie.
