Super Bowl I, also known as the AFL-NFL World Championship Game, took place on January 15, 1967. It was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in California. The game was a showdown between the Green Bay Packers, representing the NFL, and the Kansas City Chiefs, representing the AFL.

The Packers, led by coach Vince Lombardi, were considered the favorites going into the game. Quarterback Bart Starr and wide receiver Max McGee played pivotal roles in their victory. The Chiefs, coached by Hank Stram, had quarterback Len Dawson as their key player.

The first half of the game was tightly contested, with the Packers leading 14-10 at halftime. However, the Packers dominated the second half, outscoring the Chiefs 21-0. Bart Starr threw for two touchdown passes, both to McGee who also had seven receptions for 138 yards. The final score was 35-10 in favor of the Green Bay Packers, crowning them as the champions of the inaugural Super Bowl.

Super Bowl I marked the beginning of the Super Bowl era and the merger between the NFL and AFL, which eventually formed the modern-day National Football League. The game was not officially referred to as "Super Bowl I" until later, as the name "Super Bowl" was not adopted until Super Bowl III.
