Super Bowl XXIV took place on January 28, 1990, between the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos. The game was held at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The 49ers dominated the Broncos, winning the game with a score of 55-10. It was the most lopsided victory in Super Bowl history at the time.

The 49ers, led by quarterback Joe Montana, put on an impressive offensive performance. Montana threw for a record-setting five touchdown passes, three of which were caught by wide receiver Jerry Rice. The 49ers' offense was unstoppable, scoring at will and taking a 27-3 lead into halftime.

Defensively, the 49ers held the Broncos to just 167 total yards and intercepted Denver quarterback John Elway twice. Elway had a horrible game, going 10/26 for 108 yards and was sacked four times. The Broncos struggled to establish any rhythm throughout the game, and their lone touchdown came in the third quarter.

The victory marked the fourth Super Bowl win for the San Francisco 49ers, solidifying their status as the dominant team of the 1980s. Joe Montana was named the game's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his outstanding performance. Meanwhile, it was the third Super Bowl loss for Elway, and the Broncos franchise remained winless in the Super Bowl at 0-4.
