Reginald ‘Reggie’ Miller was born on August 24, 1965 in Riverside, CA. He was the son of Carrie and Saul Miller. Growing up, Reggie had difficulties walking due to his hip deformity. He would wear leg braces during his younger years to walk around. His early medical issues didn’t deter the future Hall of Famer from playing basketball. With his big sister Cheryl Miller, who was one of the best basketball players in the country constantly on him, he had the best competition at home to learn from.
Reggie played his high school ball at Riverside Poly-Technical High School. Reggie’s ability to shoot from anywhere on the court caught the eye of college basketball coaches. In a family full of athletes, Reggie wanted to carve his own path. He started by securing a scholarship to play basketball at UCLA.
