Ty Law INT TD Return in Super Bowl XXXVI
When the Patriots faced the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI, they were a big underdog. How could the Patriots keep up with the Rams’ juggernaut offense led by Hall of Famers Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk and Isaac Bruce? With defense and Law helped set the tone.
Midway in the second quarter with the Rams leading 3-0, Warner threw a pass to the right side of the field. Law got a jump on the pass and took the interception 47 yards for a touchdown. That was only the sixth INT return for a TD in Super Bowl history at the time. Law’s play continued a spectacular defensive effort by the Patriots’ defense in holding the number one offense to only 17 points in the Super Bowl upset.
