The Admiral would end up playing 15 seasons with the Spurs, winning two NBA titles. He, along with Hall of Famer Tim Duncan, won titles in 1999 and 2003. Robinson retired in 2003. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
David Robinson 1994-95 NBA MVP Season
Coming off of his improbable scoring title in 1994 when he dropped 71 in his final regular season game to beat out future Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, The Admiral had a monster 1994-95 season. In one of the best seasons of his career, Robinson averaged 27.6 points, 10.8 rebound and 3.2 blocks per game to lead the Spurs to a 62-20 record and number one seed in the West. His efforts earned him the 1994-95 NBA MVP Award. The Spurs went to the Western Conference Finals where they would meet up with last year’s MVP Hakeem Olajuwon and the defending champ Houston Rockets. Robinson’s efforts in the WCF weren’t enough (23.8 points, 11.3 rebounds per game) as the Spurs would fall to the Rockets in six games.
